Mission Children's Hospital, a member of Mission Health, is the only children's hospital in western North Carolina. Located in Asheville, N.C., its services include pediatric and adolescent specialty care, neonatal and pediatric intensive care, and pediatric and adolescent psychiatric care. Mission Children's Hospital has 130 beds, averages 3,100 patient admissions to its pediatric inpatient units, 3,900 outpatient pediatric surgeries and nearly 12,000 pediatric emergency department visits annually. Job Summary: Provides leadership which facilitates the delivery of professional nursing care for the comfort and well being of patients. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Implements medically prescribed interventions.
Required Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Nurses with an Associate Degree or Diploma in nursing must sign agreement to obtain BSN within 6 years of the hire date in to position. Nurses who are nearing the end of their professional career may be exempted from this requirement with CNO sytem Council approval
Required License: Must have and maintain current licensure as registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. Compact license may apply, licensee should confirm with NCBON; BCLS
Preferred License: National Certification in area, Pediatric Oncology.
