Advanced Practice Registered Nurses / Physician Assistants
Exciting opportunity to be part of a new Midwife Program with Kettering Health Network. The Midwife is a provider of direct health care services who synthesizes and utilizes evidence based practice, research and current clinical knowledge, working in collaboration with a multidisciplinary health care team. The Midwife demonstrates an advanced level of medical and nursing knowledge, clinical and technical competence, sound clinical judgment, professionalism as it relates to interpersonal and general communication skills, timely and complete documentation and take responsibility for ongoing professional development and competency validation. The Midwife role in partnership with supervising/collaborating physician(s) s includes history taking, clinical assessment, and physical examination, and order entry, interpretation of diagnostic studies, clinical diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of care for the given population.

Demonstrates assessment skills, diagnosis with critical thinking and implementation of a plan of care.
Professional Role- skill includes clinical reasoning and builds collaborative intra and inter-professional relationships to provide optimal care to patients with complex acute, critical and chronic illness. Skill of advocating on the behalf of the patient population and the profession through active participation in the health policy process.
Managing and Negotiating Healthcare Delivery Systems - skill in addressing the development and implementation of system policies affecting services
The preferred candidate has experience in obstetrics and gynecological care to include delivery records with a high focus on quality and patient experience, works well with a multi-disciplinary teams, and is able to collaborate and receive direction from physician lead(s).
Master’s Degree required
National Board Certification as an Advanced Practice RN specifically a Certified Nurse Midwife
Prescriptive privileges certification obtained or in process (must be completed within specified time frame)
RNC-OB certification preferred
CEFM certification preferred.
