POSITION SUMMARY: Â The SANE functions under the supervision of the SANE Program Coordinator and the SANE Program Medical Director. The SANE coordinates patient flow to assure provision of care and collection of forensic evidence of the sexual assault victim in collaboration with other health team members. Supports an organizational culture for Service Excellence and practices the Service Excellence Standards to all customer groups.Â Develops, implements and evaluates an age-appropriate plan of care utilizing the nursing process, clinical skills and patient education. Provides comprehensive care to sexual assault survivors. Demonstrates competency in conducting a forensic exam to include evaluation for evidence collection. Demonstrates the expertise to provide effective courtroom testimony. Shows compassion and sensitivity to survivors of sexual assault. Utilizes problem resolution skills. Provides an environment to safety for patients, visitors, and employees. The SANE will assess risks to patient safety and implement the appropriate precautions. The SANE will comply with appropriate and approved standards.Â Â The concepts of the patient centered care delivery model will provide the foundation for all nursing care.
