Thisposition is an entry level position responsible for clerical duties with in theHealth Information Management department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.
PrintsAdmission/Discharge/Transfer log daily and retrieves medical records fromvarious locations and ensures records are accounted for by using the ADTlog. All records must be accounted for
Printall final reports for each record retrieved and pull medical record chart thatcorresponds to the medical record retrieved
Pullall medical record requested by hospital departments for patient care purposes
Fileall medical record charts in permanent file according to the facilitiesterminal filing system. All charts willbe filed by the end of each shift
Researchall loose reports and locate corresponding medical record for proper filing
Pullcharts for physicians as they request their records for completion
Pullmedical records for all special studies as requested
Answerall phone calls in a timely manner
Assistscustomers as needed with courtesy and respect
Ensurethe privacy and security of patient information
Otherduties as assigned

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Include minimum education, technical training,and/or experience required to perform the job.
Minimum: High School diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Two (2) yearsâ experience in a hospitalHealth Information Management department
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Preferred: RHIT Certification
