The Department of Health Sciences, Bouve College, Northeastern University invites applications for a full- time, two-semester, non- tenure track Teaching or Clinical Professor position of any rank. Candidates will also be considered for an appointment as Professor of the Practice. The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary faculty committed to excellence in teaching in our CEPH accredited Bachelors and Masters programs in Public Health. Teaching and clinical faculty are expected to engage in teaching, curriculum development and assessment, as well as service activities to the Department, College and University. Additionally, engagement in scholarship and/or research is encouraged. Applicants should have a demonstrated history of innovation and excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. We particularly encourage applications from individuals who have specialization in the social determinants of health with experience in mitigating disparities in health status or health care utilization and outcomes across populations in the US or globally. Demonstrated expertise in intervention development, implementation, technical assistance, or evaluation working in collaboration with communities and/or in provider settings is preferred. Experience in low- and middle-income countries a plus. Based on background and experience, we are seeking individuals who can bring innovative and effective pedagogical methods to courses in Global Health, the American Healthcare System, Race/Ethnicity and Health, and/or Health Behavior and Health Communication. Clinical/Teaching Professors are appointed to the rank (Assistant, Associate, Full) commensurate with their experience and credentials. Appointment as Professor of the Practice may be offered by the University to a limited number of eminently qualified creative, business, entrepreneurial, law, or other professionals who are recognized by peers as having made significant contributions to fields and disciplines important to Northeastern University programs.
A PhD, M.D, or equivalent doctoral degree in Public Health or related field by August 2019 is required. Applicants should have a strong track record of teaching and ability to mentor students. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
