Abrazo West Campus (located at 136th Avenue and McDowell Road in Goodyear) is a 188-bed acute care hospital serving the healthcare needs of the residents of the southwest Valley since September 2003. Abrazo West Campus has been recognized for high standards of quality and safe patient care by being named a recipient of the Womenâs Choice Award as one of Americaâs Best Hospitals in Emergency Care. They are also accredited by The Joint Commission and are a Joint Commission-designated Primary Stroke Center and accredited Chest Pain Center. On the 4th floor Telemetry unit at Abrazo West Campus, patients receive care from an interdisciplinary healthcare team of physicians, nursing staff, social workers, clinical pharmacists, and physical therapists, who work together to provide excellent patient care. The nursing staff on this unit manage the care of patients on the cardiology inpatient services, patients who are pre and post cardiac/vascular intervention procedures, and other acute care specialty patients who have a need for cardiac telemetry monitoring. Collaboration, teamwork and attentiveness to the needs of each patient are key components to the excellent care provided to our patient populations.
Patient Care Assistant
Provides individualized, culture-specific patient care by attending to the personal needs and comfort of patients, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Assists the professional or licensed nurse as delegated in tasks requiring less technical skills. Participates in shift and bedside report. Participates and supports regional, facility, department, and unit initiatives.
Special Skill: Excellent customer service skills; basic computer skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact positively and effectively with patients, visitors and health care team members. Knowledge of patient rights, aseptic/sterile technique and infection control best practices.

High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
- One year of experience in as a nursing assistant; or in lieu of experience, - Current CNA certificate, or LNA license from the Arizona State Board of Nursing; or - Completed block one/first year of nursing school; or - Completion of formal PCA/T education program from an accredited institution.
