This position involves mitigating risk and protecting the health care organization, and providing a safe environment for its patients. The main focuses are reducing medical errors, improving patient safety, and staying current on federal and state laws and regulations. This position involves active participation in all patient safety committees, managing claims and service recovery, acting as a resource for hospital staff who have a legal concern, facilitating investigations, and assisting legal counsel in the litigation process.
Assists with assessment of organizational risk and provides support with creation documentation and management of procedures and practices to improve patient safety
Manages data for patient safety and regulatory indicators
Assists with responses to interrogatories as part of discovery procedures
Conducts RCAs and debriefs
Responds to insurance patient care queries.
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Education and experiential background in health care related field with a focus on communication skills.
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Associates or Bachelors Degree
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 4 or more years experience in healthcare related field.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Previous hospital or Risk Management experience
