The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is a part of an interdisciplinary team which includes physicians, nurses, social services, pharmacy, chaplains all aligned to care for patients admitted to the hospital with primary symptom complaints related to serious/life-limiting illness such as pain, nausea, fatigue, agitation and other complications of their serious illness. The Primary palliative care team will be different from the existing palliative care consult services in that the primary palliative care service is designed to care for patients as a primary service, responsible for the patient's care during the hospitalization. This is new service will operate with 24/7 coverage and work collaboratively to ensure high quality patient care, caregiver support, and safe disposition. This service will be closely aligned with our existing HIM, Oncology and Hematology services at RMC providing a new subspecialized primary care management team. Qualifications Minimum of one year experience as an advanced practice provider in a clinical setting is preferred. License or certification Masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner. Current Minnesota RN license and certification as a FNP or ANP. Or graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and licensure as a PA by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice. Must be eligible for DEA registration and billing privileges Compensation Detail Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. Benefits eligible Yes Hours / Pay period 72 Weekend schedule Every third weekend. Holiday coverage - usually one major holiday and one minor holiday per year.
