Nemours is seeking a PACS Administrator (Enterprise Imaging Informatics), Full-Time, to join our Nemours Children's Hospital team in Orlando, Florida.
Located in Orlando, Fla., Nemours Children’s Hospital is the newest addition to the Nemours integrated healthcare system. Our 100-bed pediatric hospital also features the area’s only 24-hour Emergency Department designed just for kids as well as outpatient pediatric clinics including several specialties previously unavailable in the region. A hospital designed by families for families, Nemours Children’s Hospital blends the healing power of nature with the latest in healthcare innovation to deliver world-class care to the children of Central Florida and beyond. The PACS Administrator is responsible for overseeing the Picture Archiving and Communications Systems – PACS - and to assist with all related integrated systems such as interface engine, Peervue, Montage, ARIS, EPIC, etc). In addition, this individual will act as a liaison in digital imaging initiatives within this department and other departments.
Participates in departmental and hospital programs for Quality Assessment and Improvement, identifying opportunities to improve services, making recommendations and implementing actions as appropriate and consistent with the goals of the Nemours Foundation.
Responsible for all aspects of project planning related to implementing a PACS or integrated systems.
Responsible for day-to-day operations of the PACS equipment including workflow, archiving, auto-routing and pre-fetching, quality control of system functionality and hardware, auditing for unread studies and other related activities.
Works closely with department’s physician and leadership teams to ensure timely and complete capture of DICOM digital image data into the PACS system as well as network transmission, RIS validation, and exceptions handling. Investigates, identifies, and prepares proposals to solve specific operational problems working closely with department’s leadership and physician teams.
Works closely with department’s leadership and physician teams to identify and design future system enhancements as needed for improved workflow and improved outcomes. Works closely with department’s leadership and physician teams, Nemours Health Informatics teams and with other departments’ leaders in the development of operating standards, policies and procedures.
Reviews feedback from customers, compiles and analyzes support data and recommends procedural and educational changes as needed.
Responsible for overseeing and documenting all activities of vendors in all phases of installation and implementation of new information systems.
Responsible for overseeing and documenting all aspects of PACS user training.
Must possess strong PC and systems trouble-shooting skills.
Generates reports from PACS and related systems as directed by Department Chairman, Sr. Operations Manager of Medical Imaging and/or the physician responsible for the clinical aspects of PACS.
Attends department’s leadership team meetings and other hospital management meetings as requested.
Attends seminars and training as necessary to maintain appropriate level of professional competence.
Associate's Degree is required.
Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years' experience required.
Experience in Information Technology, IT Management, Radiology Management preferred.
Must have the ability to work well with others.
Must have good communication skills.
