This position supports all operations groups requiring legal guidance, serving as counsel in various legal matters including those relating to contract drafting, review, and negotiations, compliance with contractual obligations, commercial disputes, and government investigations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following. Others may be assigned.
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts consistent with applicable policies and procedures.
Support all operations groups with the interpretation of Conifer contracts and management of Conifer, client, and vendor obligations under those contracts.
Draft substantive responses to government inquiries and investigations.
Perform other duties as assigned by Legal Department leadership, including legal research, memorandum writing, drafting and review of policies and procedures, litigation support, and project-based work.

Must have extensive experience in contract review and negotiation (preferably in the healthcare industry) and dealing with state and federal government agencies.
Must have excellent judgment, communication, and writing skills.
Must have a demonstrated ability to evaluate questions and concerns and offer counsel that is prompt, clear, practical and in accordance with the companyï¿½s core values and guiding behaviors.
Must be able to manage a varied and high-volume workload, including legally sensitive matters, effectively and without supervision.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Include minimum education, technical training, and/or experience required to perform the job.
Undergraduate degree and law degree from an ABA accredited law school with superior academic credentials.
Licensed to practice law.
Must have at least 5 years of law firm and/or in-house legal department experience
