The Financial Analyst - Research is responsible for providing financial support for the Research Department annual operating budget, and monthly and ad hoc financial reporting and analysis under the direction of the Research Financial Performance Manager. Responsibilities include collecting and summarizing full time equivalent information for the Annual Operating Budget process, preparing cost transfers, managing R&D accounts, distributing financial reports for Nemours sponsored activities, coding APIA expenses, tracking graduate student funding and acting as the primary contact for miscellaneous cash invoicing and deposits.
Must have a business degree where an understanding of numbers and analysis is required (Accounting, Finance, Economics).
At least one year of relevant financial experience required.

Financial skills including reconciliations and using excel to summarize and analyze data.
Collect and summarize FTE information for all Research sites. Maintain current FTE budget data for reporting and management review. Responsibilities include reconciling data to approved FTEs and maintaining effort information in the institution’s effort reporting system.
Distribute monthly financial reports for Nemours sponsored activities to researchers and administrators. Prepare summarized information for management review.
Prepare cost transfers for Delaware Valley payroll corrections.
Manage department’s R&D accounts. Distribute finanical reports to researchers and prepare summary reports for management. Assist researchers with inquiries, provide guidance on allowable spending and assist with preparation and submission of reimbursements.
Maintain the graduate student funding summary for monthly accruals and management decision considerations. Liaison with external university partners to ensure internal processes are followed. Code invoices and reconcile expenses to individual funding agreements.
Code expenses and related functions as needed.
Code deposits and provide backup.
Prepare miscellaneous invoices for payment and implement process improvements.
Perform special projects as identified by Research Administration management.
