Located at the corner of Loop 303 and Bell Road, Abrazo Surprise Hospital will provide emergency and acute care services in an efficient, convenient location along with close coordination with our other hospitals for patients who may require more complex care.
When the new hospital opens, it will include:
ï¿½ 14-bed emergency department open 24/7
ï¿½ Board-certified emergency physicians
ï¿½ One operating room
ï¿½ Eight inpatient rooms
ï¿½ Laboratory services
ï¿½ Diagnostic imaging including x-ray, computed tomography (CT) and ultrasound
ï¿½ Select inpatient procedures

Summary Exercises professional judgment in providing health care services, to assist in diagnosis or treatment of patients in all age groups from newborn to elderly. May be multi-credentialed in the area of sonography. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned. Responsibilities
Must be vascular and complete general certified (OB/GYN, Abdomen, small parts)
Produces high quality diagnostic sonographs as prescribed by a licensed practitioner
Assists with amnio procedure biopsies
Processes and files films as needed
Under minimal supervision, performs basic diagnostic ultrasound procedures, as requested by a licensed physician.
Completion of formal ultrasound technology training which meets requirements for certification with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 0 - 6 months experience
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Two years experience.
American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or CCI certified (if required by hiring facility per CMS guidelines)
RVT OR RVS, General (OB/GYN, Abdomen, small parts)
Basic Life Support Certification
REQUIRED COURSE(S) TRAINING: Maintains required CEU's to retain Registry
SPECIAL SKILLS: Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary to understand oral and written instructions stated in radiological and medical terms and to exchange information with patients and staff. Proficient with general operating procedures, i.e. start up procedures, calibration of equipment, troubleshooting and problem solving. Basic computer skills SUPERVISES: Functional supervision may be exercised over cross-training technologists and/or students.
