GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES : The RN Manager, Radiation Oncology manages and the activities of oncology operations in support of policies, goals, and objectives established by the Nursing Advisory Council, Vice President of Oncology Services and the Clinical Operations Committee.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)
Coordinates, analyzes and recommends administrative programs, policies and procedures
Identifies problems and opportunities, determines action necessary handling matters not requiring executive disposition, and makes recommendations as appropriate.
Responsible for the completion of and delegation of a variety of matters involving contact with various staff, board members, medical committees, government agencies, and the public.
Coordinates/performs special projects as necessary. Identifies and makes recommendations on special projects that contribute to the overall efficiency and quality of clinic operations.
Assists in the development of programs for oncology services.
Arranges appointments, meetings and conferences for Cancer Center Administration, Cancer Foundation Board or organization-wide activities.
Attends meetings, physicians, management and staff, and is responsible for communication materials related to the meetings.
Ensures that marketing tools and templates are implemented within the Ridley-Tree Cancer Center departments consistent with the brand of the organization.
Responsible for internal communication for staff and Cancer Foundation trustees.
Performs annual nursing competencies.
Orders nursing and front desk supplies.
May assists with fundraising events and publications as needed.
Assists in budget preparation and record maintenance Works within department budgets to meet the Ridley-Tree Cancer Center’s objectives.
Evaluates the effectiveness of the staff (including hiring, performance evaluation, training and disciplinary action), overall departmental performance, compliance issues and work methods.
Participates in department quality improvement activities, clinical safety, infection control and hazardous materials programs and activities.
Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
Handles confidential matters concerning clinic policies and practices in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Performs related work as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Knowledge of organizational policies, procedures and systems. Knowledge of office management techniques and practices. Knowledge of marketing, public relations/communications practices to develop the Cancer Center's plan consistent with its mission. Ability to offer creative and innovative solutions to meet marketing objectives. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees and the public. Ability to communicate and present information. Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions. Ability to effectively communicate the mission and services of the Cancer Center to a variety of audiences orally and in written form. Ability to coordinate projects efficiently and effectively. Requires dedication to maintaining integrity of the CCSB and Sansum Clinic brands. High
degree of integrity, diplomacy and discretion is essential. Computer proficiency required.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND LICENSURE:
Must be a college graduate from an accredited nursing school.
Must have a valid license in the State of California as a Registered Nurse.
CPR certification/Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or dually certified in both AHA Advanced Cardiac
Life Support and AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support at time of hire.
One to two years recent experience in the management of a healthcare facility required supervising five (5) or more employees.
