Nemours is seeking a Risk Management Coordinator to join our Nemours Children's Hospital team in Orlando, Florida.
Located in Orlando, Fla., Nemours Children’s Hospital is the newest addition to the Nemours integrated healthcare system. Our 100-bed pediatric hospital also features the area’s only 24-hour Emergency Department designed just for kids as well as outpatient pediatric clinics including several specialties previously unavailable in the region. A hospital designed by families for families, Nemours Children’s Hospital blends the healing power of nature with the latest in healthcare innovation to deliver world-class care to the children of Central Florida and beyond. In keeping with our goal of bringing Nemours care into the communities we serve, we also provide specialty outpatient care in several clinics located throughout the region.
Coordinates and participates in the review and analysis of risk data including but not limited to incident reports, medical records, logs, databases and error reporting systems that support risk management activities.
Responsibilities include organizing, compiling, documenting, and analyzing data to produce reports from which opportunities for quality/safety improvement, intervention and educational activities. Educates associates in risk and safety concepts, processes, and tools. As necessary, researches and provides education on state, federal and other regulatory agencies’ standards as related to risk management. Works with the Health Care Team at all levels of the organization to design and implement data collection methodologies, databases, action plans, and reporting strategies. Facilitate or leads teams, as necessary to achieve performance and practice improvement within the organization. Position will also serve as the NCH Risk Manager’s delegate in his/her absence as required by Florida State Statute.
Coordinates and participates in the collection of data from medical records, logs, databases and error reporting systems that support the management of risk and employee and patient safety activities of the assigned Practice.
Collaborates with management and administrative staff to provide proactive risk assessments. Receives incident reports and other information, such as performance improvement outliers; collates this information systematically; analyzes the data to assist in developing a corrective action plan.
Identifies, evaluates, trends and reports analysis to assist in reducing the frequency of preventable adverse occurrences involving patients, employees and visitors.
Educates and serves as a resource to hospital and practice personnel to raise awareness of each individual’s role to safeguard patients. Provides risk management oversight to new employee, supervisor, medical staff and resident orientation.
Translates data into meaningful information with the use of forms, reports, graphs, tables, slides and other communication tools.
Assists managers to provide timely follow up and closure of risk related issues.
BSN required; Florida RN license is required
Minimum of 3 years RN experience requires, risk management experience preferred
Certified professional healthcare risk manager preferred
