Under the coordination of the Director and Coordinator ensures clinical education to the staff, ensures the competency of the preceptors and staff to improve quality of care to patients. Meets all performance responsibilities as defined in the RN Job Description for the specialty area/unit. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
? Works with the Director/ Coordinator to meet the Regulatory Standards set forth by regulatory bodies including TDSHS , CMS, Joint Commission and BHS. ? Coordinates with the Director, facility and regional Staff Development to maintain all competencies within unit. ? Monitors implementation, compliance and outcomes related to processes, policies and procedures ? Provides for staff education needs ? Reports identified deficiencies to Director/ Coordinator and works with Director, Coordinator,Preceptor and staff members to implement the education plan. ? Assists preceptors in incorporating adult learning theory in their approach to staff training and competency ? Meets with Preceptors, Preceptees, and Director/Coordinator on regular basis to evaluate new employee orientation and competency validation. ? Works number of hours in staff role and unit educator role as communicated by Director ? Provides a month-to-month written and verbal report back to the unit and Director on the progress of unit, facility and related system education and performance improvement initiatives. ? Serves as a role model for compassionate care and service excellence and commits to Studer Principles and ï¿½must havesï¿½ ? Demonstrates commitment to Performance Improvement and leads by example ? Utilizes resources efficiently and effectively ? Maintains safe environment ? Addresses patient population-specific needs ? Participates in Performance Improvement activities
Required: Completion of an accredited nursing program. Preferred: Bachelor degree in Nursing
Required: Must have 5 years of clinical experience.
Required: Must be currently licensed, certified or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy. Current BLS required within 10 days of hire or transfer into unit. ACLS, TNCC, PALS or ENPC, NRP, STABLE, Fetal Monitoring and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention required within 1 year of hire or transfer into unit.
