The incumbent is located at the VA Roseburg Healthcare System. The work involves the performance of a full range of functions using guides, policies, with general review by an RN or LIP for appropriateness and conformity with established policies and procedures. He/she may work under the direction of an LPN 7. The work involves a variety of patients/residents of diverse cultural, spiritual, and education backgrounds. The work directly affects the overall well-being of patients/residents served. The work involves the care of the patient/resident. The LPN is expected to have the knowledge and ability to appropriately carry out assigned patient/resident care based on the patients'/resident's conditions; to use judgment in selecting the appropriate order and sequence of procedures and treatments; and to accurately recognize, report, and record relevant patient/resident information in the computerized medical record. Equipment for patient care includes items such as non-critical reusable medical equipment (RME) used for obtaining vital signs, electrocardiograms, telehealth carts and cameras, and other tools for obtaining data and information about patient visits.
