JOB SUMMARY: This Research Field Collector performs a wide variety of duties to assist investigators in the collection, verification and compilation of research information in rural areas.
Research Flex Staff - Data Collector
Provide, under direct supervision, support for specified research projects; collect, assess, and communicate data/results. Assist in general laboratory operation and inventory.
The Data Collector will be involved in data collection, data integrity, and interaction with parent-child dyads who live in Davidson County, assisting with recruitment, data collection, study implementation, and retention.
Preferred Education, Skills and/or Experiences :
Experience with community-based research trials preferred. The person in this position will be collecting surveys and biometric samples in the field (i.e. height and weight measurements, etc.) for analysis and must be very detailed oriented in administering and following the protocol while collecting the data in both community and clinical settings. A background/interest in biomedical and behavioral research is a must. Working and communicating within a team environment is crucial to the success of this project. Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
Key Functions and Expected Performances:
Collect survey and biometrics samples in the field and must be very detail oriented in following the protocol while collecting data in community settings.
Be involved in data entry and data integrity with understanding of database systems (i.e. REDCap)
Compile end of shift reports and weekly update summaries.
Have respectful interactions with parent-child dyads who live in Davidson County, many of whom represent underserved populations
Ensure clear communication between academic and community partners, as well as our project staff.
Demonstrate an understanding of acceptable procedures and techniques.
Provide appropriate written documentation of meetings and results for dissemination to multiple stakeholders.
Participate in participant retention strategies.
This is a part-time position working variable hours per week, including evenings and weekends, as the study requires.
