This position is located at the New Mexico VA Health Care Service. The Deputy Associate Director for Patient Care Services (DADPCS) provides primary assistance to the Associate Director for Patient Care Services (ADPCS) in guiding overall management of the practice of nursing and the profession of nursing across the New Mexico VA Health Care System (NMVAHCS). Major duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluated the outcomes of patient care programs. Evaluates job descriptions and performance standards for assigned employees, revising per review schedule. Initiates policy development and revision. Consultant to medical center and CBOC staff and greater community in areas of expertise. Provides executive input in the strategic planning, budget, mission, operational planning, and policy development for local and network efforts. Utilizes current trends and relevant theories in an analytical framework to design, modify, implement, and measure integrated programs and activities to achieve clinical and administrative goals of the medical center, CBOCs, and/or network. Evaluates outcomes against strategic priorities. Demonstrates substantial and continuous responsibility for directing and managing integrated programs. Preferred Experience: Strong communicative skills to ignite collaboration across multiple service carelines Leadership experience in healthcare Experience in data analysis for evaluation and improvement of performance metrics Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 0730-1600 with off tour support as needed to support the mission Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
