We are currently seeking a Scientific Research Manager at MSK that will be involved in the communication, networking and coordination within the Center, across all of MSK research and clinical programs, as well as Department of RTM and across NYC consortium of institutions; and externally to the broader scientific community.
As a Scientific Research Manager you will support end-to-end grant activity of Research Center investigators by identifying opportunities for peer-reviewed funding, locating suitable applicants, providing support with grant preparation and editing, producing timely submission of proposals, and ensuring timely and accurate follow up, so as to ensure maximal external funding for researchers.
Participate in scientific discussions related to the Research Center, and identify funding opportunities for large program project grants that could support multiple investigators and core facilities;
Create a strategy and coordinate the submission of grant applications;
Prepare the initial draft and provide scientific editing for large collaborative grant applications;
Be responsible for scientific implementation, coordination, and further development of assigned program grants;
Plan and manage scientific conferences, symposia, workshops, and retreats
Doctorate degree with 2-4 years of research and grant writing experience
Preferably experience in the submission of federal grants; extensive editorial experience; and track record as a research scientist.
Broad scientific knowledge, especially in translational research and cancer biology, with strong written and verbal skills. Experience in management and program building.
Strong creativity and ability to talk with clinicians. Strong motivation to invest in the academic and scientific success of others. #LI
