Nurse Practitioner (Chief Medical Information Officer)
The Chief Health Informatics Officer position establishes a formal informatics leadership presence at the facility level. The formal presence ensures that knowledge of informatics is infused throughout the Syracuse VAMC The focus of this position is to optimize effectiveness of patient care and systems management. Incumbent will also have clinical responsibilities in their field of specialty. May include inpatient care, outpatient care and on call services, depending on specialty. Qualifications The CMIO is a Nurse Practitioner (NP) graduate from a program accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), with a current certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
