POSITION PURPOSE: As a member of the healthcare team, under the supervision of a registered nurse, the Constant Observer supports patient safety through monitoring and observation of assigned patient(s). Assists patients with activities of daily living as delegated by RN. (e.g., bed baths, bed-making, assisting patients with meals, repositioning patient, ROM, and toileting.
INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
Communicates effectively with patients, families, visitors, co-workers, physicians, and other employees.

Qualifications:EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma or equivalent required. Able to read, write and speak English.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Physical health sufficient to meet the ergonomic standards and demands of the position and its location.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
None.
PROFESSIONAL LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:
For Non-Behavioral Constant Observer:
Completion of Heartsaver CPR/AED Certification preferred.
For Behavioral Constant Observers:
Completion of Heartsaver CPR/AED Certification preferred.
CPI Certification within 60 days of hire
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS AND LEVEL OF AUTONOMY: Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under the direction of the Registered Nurse. Responsible to Nurse Director and Registered Nurse.
