Unit/Position Summary
St. Luke's Virtual Care is searching for an experienced Nursing Leader to join and develop our growing team. This position will collaboratively support the daily operations of programs across the Virtual Care Center, including the TeleICU and Virtual Hospital teams.
Virtual Care and Telehealth is a rapidly growing area within St. Luke's, and our nursing teams provide innovative care and services supporting patients across the health system. Advanced critical thinking skills, mature ability to form positive relationships and a passion for innovative care models is essential. In this role you will provide day-to-day oversite of the department while providing leadership, guidance, counseling and continuing education to staff. You will also select, develop, coach, mentor and assess performance of staff.
The Nursing Supervisor is a key role for developing and leading clinical staff, monitoring program outcomes, supporting change management, participating in innovative program development, and delivering high-quality clinical care. This position offers an opportunity to help lead teams finding creative solutions to transform healthcare.
Hours: This position is 9 hours per day, 4 days a week with variability to meet department's operational needs.
Responsibilities
- Provides day-to-day oversight of the unit/department(s) assigned.
- Provides leadership, guidance, counseling and continuing education to staff. Will select, develop, coach, mentor, and assess performance of staff. Works with staff to promote resolution of conflicts and counsels staff when clinical practice standards are not met.
- Assists with coordination of schedule to ensure adequate staffing levels.
- Collaborates with all members of care provision team to share knowledge and plan for optimal outcomes.
- Serves as administrative authority for the smooth function of all units on assigned shift.
- Exercises considerable judgment in applying professional knowledge in solving problems within established policies and practices. Serves as expert and resource to staff.
- Coordinates quality initiatives and process improvements.
- Assists with budget planning and clinical needs assessments.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: Nursing Degree
- Experience: 3 years' RN experience
- Licenses/Certifications: Current RN licensure in State of Practice
