The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist is an advanced practice nurse who utilizes specialized clinical skills and education to administer anesthesia care throughout the medical center. The practice of nurse anesthesia is a recognized specialty within the profession of nursing. As independently licensed health professionals, CRNAs are responsible and accountable for their practice. The scope of practice includes direct patient care, administration, educational, and research activities. Applicants pending the completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met.
