JOB SUMMARY:Â
Our 60 bed high acuity and fast paced Emergency Department sees approximately 78,000 patient visits annually and proudly serves as the regions only Level I Adult and Pediatric Trauma center. As part of an academic medical center with a focus on education, nurses are provided standard education through the Emergency Nurses Association including BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC and ENPC. As a Magnet institution and to foster excellence at the bedside, all emergency department registered nurses are expected to attain their certification within two years of employment. Patient satisfaction is a top priority. Our nurses work closely with all levels of providers to ensure that our patients receive prompt, safe and efficient evidence based care.Â
We offer a 12 week orientation program that will pair you with an experienced nurse and is backed with evidence based practice that will provide a solid foundation for those nurses who want to experience Emergency Department nursing.Â
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact
AHA BLS prior to end of orientation period
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):Â
ED Registered Nursing experienceÂ
At least one year of medical surgical nursing experience, including telemetryÂ
ACLSÂ
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:Â
Able to sit occasionally; stand constantly; walk frequently.Â
Able to lift/carry 0-10 lbs frequently; 11-50 lbs occasionally.Â
Able to push/pull 0-20 lbs frequently; 21-75 lbs occasionally.Â
Able to climb occasionally; reach constantly.Â
Able to use hand for simple/firm grasping.Â
