SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The successful candidate will have a strong clinical background and will be responsible for working with clinical care teams to insure appropriate workflow utilizing appropriate technology development, information and support. They will collaborate as a member of the informatics team, act as a liaison between Information Services and the clinical operation care team, prioritizes requests efficiently and assist with coordination, planning, design, development, implementation and evaluation of the EMR and specialty applications. The informaticist will be accountable for observing and designing standard use of the technology within the clinical workflow. Facilitate best practices, promote patient safety, improve workflow, eliminate waste and add value to the care team. Provides remote and/or onsite support when implementing new technologies or changes in workflows where applicable.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:The percentage of time spent performing essential functions is 95%. Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties: 

• Liaison between Information Services and the clinical operations. 
• Accountable for observing and working with operational resources to formulate workflow analysis, design, test and implement new tools or changes to existing technology. 
• Prioritize requests and assist with coordination, planning, design, development, implementation and evaluation of the clinical information systems and specialty applications where applicable. 
• The informaticist will be accountable for observing and working with operational resources to design, test and implement new tools or changes to existing technology. 
• Facilitate and/or review, assess, follow up and execution of items from Affinity Groups and Informatics Councils. 
• Ensure, through relationship and collaboration, that workflow processes and clinical content are standardized to ensure alignment across all sites utilizing best practices. 
• Collaborate with other departments in testing and end user validation of technology issues, new functionality, system design, integrated testing and optimization sessions. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

• BSN required 
• Active RN License in the state of Pennsylvania is required 
• Three (3) years of acute care RN experience is required 
• EMR experience 
  

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):

• Informatics Certification, project management certification, or MSN Nursing Informatics preferred
