Position Summary: The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering patient care in a safe and supportive environment that promotes trust and confidence among the patients and their families. Responsibilities include patient assessment, education, symptom management, and procedural care for both the adult and pediatric patient population. The RN will act as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide continuity of care throughout various stages of treatment and follow-up. This is a professional nursing position working in close partnership of a physician. Work situations have a high degree of contact with critically ill patients requiring a service-oriented individual with dedication to patient care. This position requires the use of discretion and good judgement in dealing with patients. External contacts consist of physicians, outside agencies, pharmacies, and sales representatives. Internal contacts consist mainly with work group and hospital nursing staff.
Minimum Requirements: Medical Oncology - Biotherapy Certificate required within 9 months of hirer Medical Oncology - 1 year of acute care experience preferred Medical Oncology - 1 year of chemotherapy administration preferred
Radiation Oncology ACLS within 3 months of hire Radiation Oncology - 1 year of acute care experience preferred Radiation Oncology - 1 year of oncology experience preferred
Education/Licenses/Certifications: Bachelor's degree in Nursing, or obtained within three years from the initial date of hire Current Washington State R.N. License Current BLS CPR healthcare provider card required Oncology certification preferred
